• Stabilised aqueous ozone, which cleans and deodorises then reverts to oxygen and water.
• Dry steam for low-moisture thermal decontamination, useful in humid conditions because it sanitises without leaving surfaces wet.
• Colour-coded microfibre systems with disciplined dwell times to prevent cross-contamination.

This means no added synthetic chemicals and no hazardous residue on standard scopes. Where a task is disinfection-critical, we retain TGA-listed disinfectants and apply them deliberately, not as a default across every surface.

The health and WHS case

Cleaning is not a low-risk occupation. The ECRHS study (Svanes et al., 2018) linked long-term exposure to cleaning agents with lung-function decline comparable to around 20 pack-years of smoking. The AIHW attributes 9 to 15 per cent of adult-onset asthma to occupational exposure, and names cleaning as a high-risk occupation. Deloitte Access Economics puts the cost of asthma to Australian employers at 526.7 million dollars a year.

There is also a regulatory shift underway. From 1 December 2026, enforceable Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) replace the current WES across roughly 700 reviewed chemicals. Under the WHS hierarchy of controls, elimination sits at the top, ahead of substitution and PPE. Removing hazardous chemistry from your cleaning program is the most durable way to reduce exposure for both cleaners and occupants, and to stay ahead of the compliance change rather than scrambling behind it.

Ratings and building performance

For building owners and tenants pursuing recognised standards, low-tox cleaning contributes directly. GECA-certified products are deemed-to-satisfy for the Green Star Green Cleaning credit. WELL's Cleaning Products and Protocol feature targets hazardous-chemical reduction. NABERS Indoor Environment tests for VOCs and formaldehyde, both of which are influenced by the products used across a site.
