Eco Warehouse & Industrial Cleaning in Ballarat
Warehouses and distribution centres across Ballarat carry enough risk without a shelf of hazardous cleaning chemicals adding to it. GreenClean Commercial delivers industrial-scale floor and amenity cleaning using low-water equipment and methods that leave no hazardous residue — so cleaning becomes one less line on your site risk register, not one more.

Cleaning that comes off the risk register
If you run a warehouse, factory or distribution centre, your job is to reduce hazards, not import them. Conventional industrial cleaning brings concentrated degreasers, acids and quaternary compounds onto the floor — chemicals that need storage, SDS management, decanting controls and PPE, and that expose your workers and ours to respiratory risk.
The evidence on that risk is hard to ignore. A major longitudinal study (Svanes et al. 2018) found lung-function decline in regular cleaners comparable to around 20 pack-years of smoking. The AIHW attributes 9–15% of adult-onset asthma to occupational exposure, with cleaning named as a high-risk occupation. For a site already managing forklift traffic, dust, noise and manual handling, eliminating a category of chemical exposure is the sensible play. Elimination sits at the very top of the WHS hierarchy of controls — above substitution, engineering and PPE — because it removes the hazard rather than just managing it.
How the methods work on an industrial floor
We replace most conventional chemistry with three low-tox systems, then retain TGA-listed disinfectants only where disinfection is genuinely required.
Electrolysed water (HOCl) is generated on site from water and a trace of salt. It cleans and sanitises effectively, then reverts to plain salt water — no hazardous residue, no lingering fumes across a picking area. It is GECA-certified and TGA-listed, so it holds up where performance and compliance both matter.
Stabilised aqueous ozone is a strong general cleaner for hard floors and amenities that breaks back down to oxygen and water. Nothing to store long-term, nothing to decant, nothing to add to your chemical register.
Dry steam handles low-moisture thermal decontamination — useful around amenities, food-handling zones, and machinery where you cannot flood a floor. It lifts grime and grease with heat rather than solvent load, and the low water volume means faster return-to-service and less slip risk on a busy site.
Across all of it we run colour-coded microfibre with disciplined dwell times, so the physical removal of soil and the contact time for sanitising are both done properly rather than left to guesswork.
Because our claims are held to ACCC standards, we say what is true: no added synthetic chemicals and no hazardous residue on standard scopes. We do not claim "chemical-free", and where a task is disinfection-critical we use a TGA-listed product and tell you exactly where.
The compliance angle you will care about
From 1 December 2026, enforceable Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) replace the current WES across roughly 700 reviewed chemicals. If your cleaning program leans on hazardous chemistry, that is a moving compliance target you will have to monitor and document. Eliminating those chemicals from the standard scope removes them from that exposure-limit conversation entirely.
If your site or corporate group reports against building or ESG frameworks, the same approach helps there. GECA-certified products are deemed-to-satisfy for the Green Star Green Cleaning credit, the WELL Cleaning Products and Protocol feature targets hazardous-chemical reduction, and NABERS Indoor Environment testing looks at VOCs and formaldehyde — all easier to satisfy when the products on the trolley are low-tox to begin with.
What a Ballarat program looks like
Ballarat's cooler, damper climate through the year means mould and moisture management matter in amenities, break rooms and any poorly ventilated storage. Our low-water methods suit this — we are not adding moisture load to a floor that already struggles to dry.
A typical program combines routine and periodic work. Routine visits cover amenities, break rooms, office areas and high-traffic circulation, at a frequency matched to your headcount and shift pattern — daily, several times a week, or nightly for a 24-hour operation. Periodic work covers machine scrubbing of warehouse floors, dock and loading-bay cleaning, high-level dust management and post-project cleans. Scope and frequency are set at the walkthrough against your actual layout, traffic and risk zones rather than a generic template.
We operate Australia-wide through an accredited partner network, so a Ballarat site is serviced to the same method and reporting standard as any other. You can see our broader capability across Ballarat and the full range on our warehouse cleaning service page.
Pricing without the premium myth
On standard warehouse and amenity scopes, our pricing is at parity with conventional cleaning — going low-tox does not mean paying more for the everyday work. A modest premium of 10–15% applies only on health- or rating-critical sites where the extra assurance is the point. The walkthrough and quote are free, so you can compare like for like before committing.

Frequently asked questions
Is eco warehouse cleaning actually effective on heavy industrial soil and grease?
Yes. Electrolysed water and aqueous ozone are effective cleaners and sanitisers, and dry steam uses heat to lift baked-on grease and grime without solvent load. For genuinely disinfection-critical tasks we retain TGA-listed disinfectants, so performance is never traded away — we just remove hazardous chemistry from the standard scope.
Does switching to low-tox cleaning cost more?
On standard warehouse and amenity scopes our pricing is at parity with conventional cleaning. A 10–15% premium applies only on health- or rating-critical sites where the added assurance is the reason you are engaging us. The walkthrough and quote are free so you can compare directly.
How does this help with the new Workplace Exposure Limits coming in 2026?
From 1 December 2026, enforceable WELs replace the current WES across around 700 chemicals. Eliminating hazardous cleaning chemistry from your standard scope removes those substances from the exposure-limit conversation entirely, which is elimination — the top of the WHS hierarchy of controls — rather than ongoing monitoring and management.
Will low-water methods work given Ballarat's damp climate and mould pressure?
They suit it well. Dry steam and electrolysed water use far less water than flood-and-mop methods, so you are not adding moisture load to floors and amenities that already dry slowly in Ballarat's cooler months. That helps manage slip risk and mould pressure at the same time.
Can you service a 24-hour or multi-shift distribution centre?
Yes. We operate Australia-wide through an accredited partner network and set frequency to match your shift pattern, from nightly cleans to several visits a week. Scope, timing and access are agreed at the walkthrough so cleaning fits around your operation rather than disrupting it.
