GreenClean Commercial

Eco Warehouse and Industrial Cleaning in Bendigo

For a Bendigo warehouse or distribution centre, cleaning is a line on the risk register before it is a line on the budget. GreenClean Commercial delivers industrial-scale floor and amenity cleaning using low-water equipment and methods that remove the hazardous chemistry most facilities still store in a bunded cupboard. The result is a cleaner site with fewer things to control.

Take the chemical hazard off your risk register

Warehouse and industrial managers already carry enough on the register — forklift movements, working at height, manual handling, dangerous goods segregation. Conventional cleaning quietly adds to that list: caustic degreasers, chlorinated floor products, acidic amenity cleaners, and the storage, decanting, SDS management and PPE they demand. Every drum on site is something you have to control.

Our approach removes the hazard rather than managing it, which is the top of the WHS hierarchy of controls — elimination. We clean with electrolysed water (hypochlorous acid generated on site from water and a trace of salt, which reverts to salt water), stabilised aqueous ozone (which reverts to oxygen and water), and dry steam for thermal decontamination of amenities and hard-to-reach plant. Where a task is genuinely disinfection-critical, we still use a TGA-listed disinfectant — but only where it is actually needed, not as a default across the whole slab.

Why low-tox matters more in a warehouse than most sites

Warehouses are large-volume, low-ventilation-per-square-metre environments. Vapours and residues from aggressive floor and amenity chemicals don't clear the way they might in a small office. The people most exposed are your cleaners and anyone working near freshly cleaned zones.

The evidence on cleaner health is now hard to ignore. The ECRHS study (Svanes et al. 2018) found lung-function decline in regular cleaners comparable to around 20 pack-years of smoking. The AIHW attributes 9–15 per cent of adult-onset asthma to occupational exposure and names cleaning as a high-risk occupation, while Deloitte Access Economics puts the cost of asthma to Australian employers at $526.7 million a year. On a site already managing dust, diesel and particulate load, cutting the chemical exposure is a sensible, defensible move.

The compliance clock is running

From 1 December 2026, enforceable Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) replace the current Workplace Exposure Standards across roughly 700 reviewed chemicals. For any facility that stores and uses cleaning chemistry at industrial volume, that is a review worth getting ahead of now. Eliminating hazardous cleaning products means fewer substances to monitor, measure and justify against a limit — and fewer SDS to keep current. It is simpler to remove a risk than to prove you are managing it within a threshold.

If your site is chasing or maintaining a rating, GECA-certified products are deemed-to-satisfy for the Green Star Green Cleaning credit, the WELL Cleaning Products and Protocol feature targets hazardous-chemical reduction, and NABERS Indoor Environment tests for VOCs and formaldehyde. Our products and methods are built to support all three without a separate documentation exercise.

What a Bendigo warehouse program looks like

Every site is scoped on a walkthrough, but a typical industrial program covers:

  • Hard-floor maintenance — low-water scrubbing of concrete slab, dock and aisle areas, with dwell times matched to soil load rather than guesswork
  • Amenities and staff areas — toilets, kitchens and lunchrooms cleaned and thermally decontaminated with dry steam, using colour-coded microfibre to prevent cross-contamination
  • Office and mezzanine spaces — the administrative footprint attached to the warehouse floor
  • Periodic deep cleans — racking, high-level dusting where access allows, and dock and roller-door zones

Frequency ranges from daily amenity servicing on high-headcount distribution centres to scheduled periodic programs on lower-traffic storage facilities. We build the schedule around your shift patterns and dispatch windows so cleaning fits the operation, not the other way around. Pricing without the premium myth

Eliminating chemical hazards does not have to cost more. On standard warehouse and industrial scopes, our pricing sits at parity with conventional cleaning. A modest premium of 10–15 per cent applies only on health- or rating-critical sites where the specification and documentation load is genuinely higher — and we tell you upfront if your site falls into that category.

We operate Australia-wide through an accredited partner network, so a Bendigo site gets the same methods, the same claims discipline and the same standards as any capital-city facility. We say "no added synthetic chemicals" and "no hazardous residue" because those are accurate — not "chemical-free", which is a claim no honest cleaner can make.

Frequently asked questions

Can low-water equipment actually handle a large concrete warehouse floor?

Yes. Low-water scrubbing is designed for industrial slab and is effective on typical warehouse soil, dust and traffic marking. Reduced water use also means faster dry times and less slip risk, which matters on a floor with forklift and pedestrian movement. We match dwell times and equipment to your actual soil load during the walkthrough.

Do your methods disinfect, or just clean?

Both, depending on the task. Electrolysed water and aqueous ozone clean and reduce microbial load, and where a task is genuinely disinfection-critical we retain a TGA-listed disinfectant. We apply disinfection where it is needed — amenities, food-handling areas — rather than blanketing the whole facility unnecessarily.

How does eco cleaning help with the 2026 chemical law changes?

From 1 December 2026, enforceable Workplace Exposure Limits replace the current standards across around 700 reviewed chemicals. By eliminating hazardous cleaning products from your site, you reduce the number of substances you have to monitor, document and justify against a limit. Elimination sits at the top of the WHS hierarchy of controls, which makes it the strongest position to be in.

Will switching disrupt our shift and dispatch schedule?

No. We build the cleaning program around your operating hours, shift patterns and dispatch windows so work happens in the gaps rather than interrupting the operation. Frequency and timing are set during scoping and adjusted as your throughput changes.

Is eco warehouse cleaning more expensive than what we pay now?

On standard warehouse and industrial scopes, our pricing is at parity with conventional cleaning. A 10–15 per cent premium applies only on health- or rating-critical sites with heavier specification and documentation needs, and we will tell you upfront if that applies.
